Lake Nakuru National Park, in Central Kenya, is famous for its huge flocks of pink flamingoes.
The birds throng on Lake Nakuru itself, one of the Rift Valley soda lakes that comprises almost a third of the park's area. The park was established in 1961 and more than 450 species of birds have been recorded here as well as a rich diversity of other wildlife. Lions, leopards, warthogs, waterbucks, pythons, and white rhinos are just some of the animals visitors might see, and the landscapes range from sweeping grasslands bordering the lake to rocky cliffs and woodland.

The park also protects the largest euphorbia candelabrum forest in Africa. These tall branching succulents are endemic to the region and provide an interesting textural element to the arid landscapes.

Day 2: Masai Mara.
Morning breakfast and depart as you traverse the Great Rift Valley and ascend to its western rim into the Maasai land. Red-clad Maasai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Here we also find the Masaai giraffe. After lunch at lodge you embark on one of the most exciting game drive Africa has to offer. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge.
Maasai Mara is one of the world's most magnificent game reserves. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries. It's named after the statuesque, red-cloaked Maasai people who live in the park and graze their animals here as they have done for centuries. In their language, Mara means "mottled", perhaps a reference to the play of light and shadow from the acacia trees and cloud-studded skies on the vast grasslands.
The park is famous for the Great Migration when thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson's gazelle travel to and from the Serengeti, from July through October. In the Mara River, throngs of hippos and crocodiles lurk. The park is also known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large populations of lion, cheetah, and leopard - especially in the dry months from December through February. Thanks to the parks altitude, the weather here is mild and gentle year round.

Extend your game drive to the Mara river where you will see the crossing as hundreds of wildebeest and zebras cross from serengeti into Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Optional early morning optional balloon excursion to experience a birds-eye view of the vast Mara. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 5: Serengeti.
Full day or Early morning and late afternoon game drives at the Serengeti National Park which is 14,763 sq kms, a vast treeless plain with thousands, even millions of animals searching for fresh grasslands. As the largest national park in Tanzania, the Serengeti attracts thousands of tourists each year. The best months for wildlife viewing are between December and June. The wet season is from March to May, with the coldest period from June to October. The annual migration of millions of zebra and wildebeest takes place in May or early June. This migration is one of the most impressive natural events.
Large herds of antelope as well as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, bat eared fox, hunting dog and jackal are also found in Serengeti National Park. Nearly 500 species of bird have been recorded on the Serengeti. Many of these are attracted to the swamp area. 'Serengeti' means an 'extended place' in the Maasai language.
Meals and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro.
Breakfast and leave via Olduvai Gorge, Arrive for lunch at lodge. Afternoon at leisure or take optional nature walks. Dinner overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder, an extinct volcano teeming with wildlife often compared to the Garden of Eden. Wildlife viewing in the crater is out of this world. All major animals are easily seen. The only exception is giraffe, which is present in the Conservation Area, but not in the crater because of the steep descent. Elephants are common. All big cats are easily spotted and the density of spotted hyenas is quite extraordinary.
A real special of the crater is the black rhino. Rhino is hard to see in Tanzania and black rhino is typically very shy- sticking to thick vegetation. This is not so in the crater, where they have a predictable routine of spending the night in Lerai forest, and the day in open grassland. Black-backed and golden jackals are equally common in the crater.
Approx Transit time: 4 hrs

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater.
Today you will descend 2000 feet (0ver 600 metres) to the floor of the crater for a crater tour with picnic lunches.
